GREENFIELD
Glendon D. Grinstead, known to most as Pedad, age 84, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at his home. Born on June 20, 1938, in Greenfield, he was the son of Glen Grinstead and Mary Alice (Wallace) Grinstead. He went to Hancock Central High School, and for six years, Pedad served in the Army National Guard. He married Patricia (Strane) Johnson on September 1, 2001.
He farmed for 30 years at the family farm. Pedad was a member of the Greenfield Optimist Club and the F.O.P Lodge. He attended Mt. Comfort Church for special family events and enjoyed working in his shop, tinkering with all of his tools. He loved going to the breakfast club with friends, spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Pedad is survived by his loving wife, Pat Grinstead of Greenfield; sons, Greg (Marta) Grinstead of Pendleton, Gary (Julie) Grinstead of Lima, OH, Gerald (Sonja) Grinstead of Greenfield; stepsons, Chris (Amy) Johnson of New Palestine and Brad Johnson of CA; grandchildren, Justin (Ann) Grinstead, Ryan “Gator” (Summer) Grinstead, Alyse (Jake) Wilson, Jovi Crawford, Josiah Grinstead, Nick (Blake) Grinstead, Courtney Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Lexx Johnson and Abi Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Jace Grinstead; sisters, Darlene (Moe) Miller and Jo Ellen (Kim) Ward; and brother-in-law, Berry Wadley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Mary Alice; sister, Connie Wadley; sister-in-law, Patty Grinstead; and grandson Zachary Grinstead.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
