Donna Lee DeMoss, 74, of New Palestine, Indiana passed away Thursday evening, February 2nd, 2023 at the Franciscan Hospice House. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 1, 1948. Donna was a graduate of Warren Central High School, class of 1966.

Donna is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 28 years, John DeMoss; father: Robert A. Murphy; one step-son: Travis (Lee Ann) DeMoss; one granddaughter, Katherine DeMoss; one step-daughter: Susan DeMoss (John Hutchens) and two granddaughters, Chelsie and Shawnee Hutchens. Sisters: Pam Kirkpatrick, Darlene Crawford, Danette Bryant; Brothers, Bob (Kim) Murphy, Lenny (Carla) Messal; Step Sisters, Rhonda Jeske, Susie (Don) Nixon, LeAnn (Dave) Echterling; Step Brother Mike (Amy) Murphy; Many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Murphy; one son, Tim Beard; step-brother, Larry Murphy.

Donna excelled in her profession in the insurance business. She was a claims supervisor and litigation specialist. She retired from Citizens Insurance Company in 2005 due to health issues. She loved to challenge herself, always striving for perfection. Music, movies and crossword puzzles was a passion of hers as it soothed her soul. Also, books were a love, as she always wanted to experience the passion of the words. She was a very giving person, that special gift for a person was always important to her. It brought much joy to bring happiness to others. One of the last things she did was to get her calendar updated with all of the family birth dates. She loved her home, April 1st was always circled on the calendar, the day they moved in. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 4:00pm at Indiana Funeral Care’s Harry W, Moore Chapel (8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250) with her nephew, Dustin Crawford officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice House, Hancock County Children’s Choir in honor of Donna or your favorite charity.
