New Palestine’s gymnastics team ended the month of January with a victory over three teams.
At a meet held at the Dragons home facility, The Gymnastics Company, New Palestine defeated Noblesville, Guerin Catholic and Lutheran Tuesday.
The Dragons scored 102.825 points. Guerin Catholic had 58.325, Lutheran 55.3 and Noblesville 44.4.
New Palestine took first place in each event and the all-around.
JJ Fee was the all-around champion with 35.250 points. Lynzie Stiller was second with 34.175. Addy Kendall was fourth with 32.425 and Olivia Frank was fifth with 31.925.
Fee won floor exercise (9.35), balance beam (9.050) and uneven bars (8.575). Stiller won vault (8.55) and was second on floor exercise (9.200).
Frank was third on vault (8.300) and fourth on floor (8.725). Kendall was fourth on bars (8.125) and beam (8.250).
The Dragons are just outside the Indiana High School Gymnastics Top 15 Coaches’ Poll. They are one of two teams (Bloomington South) receiving votes but not in the Top 15. Valparaiso is ranked No. 1.
New Palestine returns to action Saturday at the Rushville Invitational.
