Joseph Patrick Padgett, age 69, of New Palestine, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born in Greenfield on July 22, 1953, to William Joseph and Ann Katherine (Hyre) Padgett. He graduated from Greenfield-Central High School in 1972. Pat received his A.S. degree from Vincennes University in 1974. He married Pam (Jacob) on September 29, 1979.
Pat worked for Peerless Electric as a salesman for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and belonged to several small engine and car clubs. Pat enjoyed repairing watches, going to car shows, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Pam; son, Brian (Kristin) Padgett of Fishers; daughters, Shannon (Brett) Johnson of McCordsville, and Kellie Padgett of New Palestine; grandchildren, Cayleb, Cooper, and Cambree Johnson, and Mason, Brady, and Riley Padgett; brothers, Phillip “Mark” Padgett, Gregory (Ruth), Padgett and Robert “Bob” (Peggy) Padgett, all of Indianapolis; step-mother, Lee Padgett of Greenfield; and grand-dog Zoey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
