DR seeks pet photos

GREENFIELD – The Daily Reporter is seeking photos of local pets in the community. Cats, dogs, farm friends and more will be highlighted in a page featuring news and health information about animals. To share a photo, email [email protected] with “pet page” in the subject line. Include your name, your pet’s name, and a brief description of your pet and why he or she is a special member of the family.

HCCF scholarship applications available

GREENFIELD – Scholarship applications for high school seniors and current college students are available through the Hancock County Community Foundation.

The traditional scholarship cycle application will be open until Feb. 3, 2023.

There will be an additional cycle for graduating high school seniors pursuing a trade or technology degree that will open Feb. 6 to April 14, 2023. There are also scholarships for those pursuing trade or technology training in the traditional scholarship cycle.

There are also comprehensive scholarship guidebooks available at each public high school guidance office and at both locations of the Hancock County Public Library Library, as well as the Fortville-Vernon Township Public Library, the Hancock County Purdue Extension Office, WorkOne, The Boys and Girls Club of Hancock County, and The Landing.

Summer camp registration opens Feb. 1

GREENFIELD – Registration opens Feb. 1 for the 2023 Kids Kamp, featuring eight weeks of programming through Greenfield Parks and Recreation.

The camp, hosted in the Patricia Elmore Center of Riley Park, 280 N. Apple St., features weekly field trips, art, sports, music, science activities, water games and pool visits. It’s for children ages 6-12. Dates are June 5 to July 28 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each weekday.

Cost is $100 per child, per week for Greenfield residents; $110 for non-residents. Non-refundable fees due at registration are $55 for registration and $60 for field trips. For more, visit parks.greenfieldin.org.
