GREENFIELD
Robert W. Pyles, age 82, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, December 30th, 2022, at Heritage House in Shelbyville. He was born in Greenfield on July 7th, 1940, to William W. and Francis G. (Boring) Pyles. He graduated from Hancock Central High School. Mr. Pyles married Eura Jerreldene “Jerri” (Ring) Pyles January 2nd, 1971.
He worked for General Motors as a Metal Finisher for 42 years before retiring. Mr. Pyles was a member of the UAW, and enjoyed making knives, racing, and old westerns.
He is survived by his Sons, Curtis “Curt” Schrieber of Greenfield, Yancy (Amy) Pyles of Fortville; Daughters, Brenda (Steve) Anderson of Fillmore, Bonita (Rick) McClure of Brookland, and Margie (Jeff) Goble of Greenfield; 15 Grandchildren, 23 Greatgrandchildren, and 1 Great-great Grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents listed above; Sisters Ruth Ann Pierson; and Betty Jean Montgomery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5th, 2022, from 3pm until 5pm at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, Indiana. The funeral service will begin at 5pm immediately following the visitation. Pastor Roger Kinion will be officiating. Entombment will take place on a later date.
