David Charles Pasco, 76, Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He was born on April 25, 1946, in Indianapolis, the son of the late Charles Glover and Marianne (Wertenberger) Pasco and was raised and lived most of his life in Greenfield.

A 1964 graduate of Greenfield High School, he also received degrees from The Ohio State University, Ball State University, and the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. He worked for over 35 years at the Pasco Memorial Mortuary. He served on the Board of Directors of Greenfield Banking Company 22 years, retiring in 2018.

David entered the U.S. Army and completed Officer Candidate School in 1970. Serving a year in Vietnam, he was assigned to MACV Team 87 working as a G-2 Staff Officer with the 18th South Vietnamese Division during Vietnamization. He was discharged in 1971 from active duty and honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserves in 1978.

His memberships include Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard, American Legion Post #119, V.F.W. Post #2693, Greenfield Sertoma Club, Hancock Masonic Lodge, Greenfield York Rite, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, and Murat Shrine Club. He was a former Board Member of The Boys &Girls Club of Hancock County. His community involvement included Board Member of Greenfield Revitalization (the 1980s) and was very proud to have served on the Committee to bring the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, “Wall that Heals,” to Greenfield in 2005.

Surviving is his wife of 50+ years, Janice Braddock Pasco and his beloved schnauzer son, Mr. Higgins. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Georgia (Burl) Carmichael; nieces and nephews: Patty Pasco, R.J. (Beth) Pasco, Jason (Karen) Carmichael, Emily (Matt) Rosenthal-Williams, Alissa Carmichael (Chad Bozell), and Billy Williams; sister-in-law, Joan Pasco and her daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Beck; and several great nieces and nephews; and many great long-time friends here and around.

David was preceded in death by his brother, Richard J. Pasco and sister, Salli Williams.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home- Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with the Honor Guard and American Legion having their ceremonies immediately prior to the 1:00 p.m. service, also at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Matt Wickham. Burial will be private to the Pasco family, where upon full military rites will be afforded in Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
