INDIANAPOLIS
Mary F. (Jones) Walker, age 95, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Born on February 6, 1927, in Jacksonville, FL, she was the daughter of Eugenia (Beil) Towne and Harold Jones. On May 31, 1946, Mary wed Arthur W. Walker in Rosedale, Indiana. Even married with kids, Mary showed her tenacity by attending night school and graduated from Howe High School in 1967. She spent her career in bookkeeping and accounting. Mary, aka Grandma, loved sewing and gardening and was a fantastic artist who shared her gift through her paintings. She loved spending time with her family, and her vibrancy for life was apparent in her infectious laughter and incredible style.
Mary is survived by her children, Jean Merrell, Rick Walker (Judy), Scott Walker (Amy), and Carol Brady (Kevin); 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugenia and Harold; and her husband, Arthur.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Burial at Washington Park East Cemetery will take place on a later date.
