Financial aid workshops coming up

HANCOCK COUNTY – Graduating high school students and adult learners can gain insight on financial aid through a series of upcoming FAFSA Days events.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be discussed by INvestED Indiana college funding experts, according to the Hancock County Community Foundation. The HCCF, INvestED and Hancock County LINK are hosting the FAFSA days at all four county high schools.

The FAFSA Day for New Palestine High School is 2:30-7 p.m. Nov. 1; Mt. Vernon High School, 2:30-7 p.m. Nov. 2; Eastern Hancock High School, 4-7:30 p.m. Nov. 8; Greenfield-Central High School, 2:30-7 p.m. Nov. 15; and Hancock County Public Library, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 21. There will also be onsite scholarship application support for scholarships through the HCCF.

Most communities encourage trick-or-treating Halloween evening

HANCOCK COUNTY – Local communities have announced trick-or-treat hours.

The town of Shirley will have trick-or-treating from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. Other communities will have trick-or-treating from 5-8 p.m. Halloween, Oct. 31, including Greenfield, McCordsville, Fortville, Cumberland and New Palestine.

FUSE to host expo in Indianapolis

GREENFIELD – Registration is open for the 2022 Fall Inspiring Abilities Expo.

The event, hosted by the Greenfield-based Families United for Support and Encouragement, is scheduled for 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Nov. 5 at Perry Meridian High School, 401 W. Meridian Road, Indianapolis. The expo offers families and professionals an opportunity to network with organizations and service providers that meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. Therapy service providers, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, recreation programs and other agencies for adults and children with disabilities will be on site.
