NASHVILLE, INDIANA
Joan “Sally” Petty-Koerber of Nashville (formerly Greenfield), Indiana, age 90, passed away Friday, September 16th, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 20, 1932, daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Herbertz) Jarosinski.
Joan is survived by her sons Joseph (Anna) and Scott (Rhonda) Petty and her daughters Susan (Eric) Smith and Janet Landis; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; brothers John (Susie) and Fred Jarosinski and sisters Betty (Lynn) Charnes, Kate Parton, Georgia Schmidt and Pauline Watson; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husbands John M. Petty and George Koerber, sons David and Michael Petty, brothers Nick, Pete, and Eugene Jarosinski, sister Rose Mascari, son-in-law Larry Landis and countless other loved ones.
Everyone who knew Joan felt her big heart and giving nature. She was a genuine example of what it meant to have a servant’s heart. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, and had a love for entertaining. She had a special love for her church (St. Agnes) where she was an active member, working in the office and being a part of the women’s guild. She loved her family and friends dearly.
Services are being held for Joan on Friday, September 23, 2022, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1008 McLary Rd, Nashville, Indiana. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brown County Health and Living for their compassionate care during Joan’s time there. They’d also like to thank St. Agnes Church for their prayers, love and support during this time.
