GREENFIELD – Those that want to try for prizes and recognition at this year’s Riley Festival might want to check out the festival’s new website, jwrileyfestival.com.

Forms and contest information is listed on the site, from all the details on creating chocolate goodies for the Baker’s Best competition, to fine arts and photography, to pumpkin decorating and more.

The festival is scheduled for Oct. 6-9 with the theme “Little Orphant Annie.”

The website includes information on the queen pageant and the Little Miss and Mister pageant, as well as commercial and flea market forms. A fourth-grade poetry contest is scheduled, as well as a pumpkin/gourd/squash decorating contest sponsored by the Hancock County Arts Council.

Hancock County Extension Homemakers is accepting entries for the Home Arts and Quilt Show at the Riley Festival. Entries for the show will be accepted from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the Hancock County Annex, 111 American Legion Place.

Categories include food preparation, food preservation, quilts, sewing, needlecrafts, painting, drawing, dolls, toys, wood, leather and more. Any professional entries and all antiques and collectibles entries will be accepted for display only and receive participation ribbons. The homemakers would especially like to see participation from people ages 16 and under this year.

Pre-registration is appreciated; information on how to preregister is at the bottom of the form found online. Mail forms by Sept. 30 to Riley Festival, Purdue Extension office, 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield.
