GREENFIELD – April Fool’s Day was quite the joke for just over 90 people attending a downtown Greenfield murder mystery dinner theater.

Greenfield Main Street hosted its first event of the season with “A Night with the Crown, The Princess and the Killer.” Held in the ballroom of Bradley Hall, guests were transported to a factory in England and honored with a visit by the Queen herself.

Two actors portrayed several characters and led the show while local residents also stood up and played colorful characters trying to solve who poisoned a factory worker.

Audience members performing roles included Hancock Regional Hospital Chaplain Rusell Jarvis, Hancock County Community Foundation President Mary Gibble (portraying a factory worker who loved to drink), and Charlie Vetters, owner of Organic Robot Designs who won “The Hammy” award for his performance as Sonic the Hedgehog.

The event was a fundraiser for the organization that promotes downtown businesses and community events. The show was by The Mystery Cafe, an Indianapolis company. For more, visit www.themysterycafeindy.com.
