INDIANAPOLIS
Christine N. Kroening-Knickerbocker, known to most as Christi, age 56, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022. She was born in Greenfield on February 23, 1966 to Phillip A. Kroening and Pamela “Pam” (Heck) Thomas. She went to Morristown High School and then transferred and graduated from Fordyce High School in Fordyce, Arkansas in 1984. Christi received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1988, where she was in the Tri Sigma Sorority.
She worked in the chief executive office at CW Technology in Lafayette, Louisiana for many years. Christi entered many beauty pageants and won Miss Dallas County Arkansas and Miss University of Arkansas at Monticello. She was an avid LSU fan, loved singing and music, and playing volleyball.
Christi is survived by her mother, Pam Thomas; father, Phillip Kroening (Charlotte); siblings, Brian Kroening (Lisa), Amy Clark, and Ronda Bruce (Chad); and nieces and nephews, Karly, Tripp, Tyler, Opal Jane, Keith, Nathan, Zain, Ryah and Brayden. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Alan Kroening.
A Celebration of Christi’s Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Chaplain Dustin Whithers will be officiating. The family requests that guests wear Christi’s favorite colors purple and gold.
