Transportation exhibit, show planned

GREENFIELD – The Twenty North Gallery is featuring local artists in “The Art of Transportation” exhibit this month, along with a car show in downtown Greenfield March 26.

The gallery, 20 N. State St., Greenfield, is open on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The month-long exhibit coincides with an upcoming car show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 “Cruising the Living Alley.” Featured will be Studebakers, hot rods and motorcycles; coffee and donuts will be available inside the gallery. Anybody interested in submitting a vehicle for the event may email [email protected]; there is a $10 entry fee.

Lego events coming to libraries

GREENFIELD – Lego fans may enjoy free programs this month at local libraries.

Lego Challenge Days returns to the Fortville-Vernon Township Library March 23-26. Various challenges will be set up for all ages to participate in during regular business hours. The library is located at 625 E. Broadway St., Fortville.

The Hancock County Public Library’s main branch in Greenfield will host a Lego free-build event for children in kindergarten through fifth grade at 3 p.m. March 23. Visit hcplibrary.org to check for space availability or to register.

Community breakfast scheduled at lodge

GREENFIELD – Hancock County Lodge No. 101 will host a community breakfast 8-11 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at 661 W. Tague St., Greenfield.

Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, sausage and hash browns are on the menu; suggested donations are $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 10.

Green thumb event set at library

GREENFIELD – Adults can learn from the Green Thumb Project in “Gardening from the Ground Up” 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 13 at the main branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.

The initiative from Hancock County Master Gardeners will include a presentation on the importance of healthy soil, information booths, refreshments and door prizes.

Mystery dinner to benefit Main Street

GREENFIELD – Tickets are available now for a murder mystery dinner theater event benefiting Greenfield Main Street.

“A Night with The Crown, The Princess and The Killer” will be at 7 p.m. April 1 at Bradley Hall, 2 W. Main St. The event by Mystery Cafe features a storyline of murder in an English factory in which the Queen herself paid a visit.

Tickets are $60 and includes Tuscan lemon chicken, baked ziti, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert. A cash bar is available. Tickets are available through Eventbrite. For more, visit facebook.com/GreenfieldMainStreet.
