Sports equipment collection coming up
GREENFIELD – Balls, shoes and barely used sports equipment are being collected Jan. 16-22 in a project to help break down barriers for children who want to play sports but can’t afford to purchase equipment.
The project is part of Leadership Hancock County, an organization that teaches volunteers and professionals leadership skills while also promoting community service. People may drop off items at collection bins at the Hancock County Boys &Girls Clubs, 715 E. Lincoln St., Greenfield; or any branch of Hancock Wellness Center (Greenfield, New Palestine or McCordsville).
Age range for donated sports equipment is kindergarten through sixth grade. All types of sports equipment are accepted. A distribution date will be announced later.
The project is in conjunction with the Hancock County Boys &Girls Clubs. To learn more, follow the group on Facebook at @ballshoesbarelyused or Instagram at ballshoesbarelyused.
