GREENFIELD — Purdue Extension Hancock County is offering a Beginner Farmer Workshop series in the new year.

The series is designed to help enhance and improve management practices and guide people on how to start a farm and where to get help.

The series, which runs Jan. 13-March 8, addresses the realities of starting a farm, farming assets, defining realistic goals and creating plans to achieve goals. Outside the weekly workshop sessions, participants will complete individual work to give a clear perspective on planning farm projects and moving forward with confidence. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from Purdue Extension educators on a range of topics including asset mapping, goal setting, finding resources, and more.

The workshop includes eight sessions held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings starting Jan. 13. Pre-registration is required with payment by Jan. 3; cost is $75.
