HANCOCK COUNTY — The county reported a new COVID-19 death this week, raising its total to 184.

According to information from the Indiana Department of Health, the victim was a woman in her 70s who died on Nov. 19.

Hancock County’s seven-day moving average of COVID-19 cases was 44 on Wednesday, the last day of the week the state’s novel coronavirus data dashboard would be updated until after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The average had been trending downward throughout October, dropping to a low of 14, before rising again throughout this month. Indiana’s seven-day moving average reflects a similar trend.

The county’s state-assigned COVID-19 advisory level, evaluated every Wednesday, remains orange, the second-most severe.
