GREENFIELD — The City council gave final approvals for annexing about 94 acres south of town Wednesday night, Nov. 24.
Located west of Morristown Pike and south of Davis Road, the site is part of 147 acres on which Indianapolis-based Arbor Homes wants to develop 268 single-family residential lots for a neighborhood to be called Forest at Brandywine.
After a public hearing, council members approved an ordinance on second and third readings changing and extending the corporate boundary of the city. The council also approved a resolution adopting a fiscal plan for providing services to the annexed area. Both votes passed 6-0, with Gary McDaniel, Dan Riley, Kerry Grass, John Jester, George Plisinski and Mitch Pendlum voting in favor. Jeff Lowder was not present, but he voted in favor of the annexation during the ordinance’s first reading earlier this month.
