GREENFIELD
Rebecca “Becky” Lynn (Poeschel) Fernandes, age 61, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021. She was born on January 31, 1960 to Ralph H. Poeschel and Rita M. (Baier) Poeschel. She graduated from J. I. Case High School in 1978 and attended Winona State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
She worked for Raytheon in Indianapolis as the software engineering manager until retiring in 2020. Becky enjoyed playing euchre, going on houseboat trips, and decorating for the holidays. She loved tending to the flowers in her garden, watching the Green Bay Packers, and being a swim mom.
Becky is survived by her daughter, Carly (Jonathan) McCormick; stepdaughter, Jenny (Tony) Alerding; siblings, Jane (Greg) De Leon, Dan (Julie) Poeschel, Debbie Poeschel, Dave Poeschel and Mary Lewis; God children, Michelle De Leon, Kristen Goodman and Ashley Adams; step grandchildren, Aydan and Isaac Alerding. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Rita Poeschel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life will follow the visitation starting at 6:00 p.m.
