Update announced on Heart of Hancock fund
GREENFIELD — To date, more than $204,000 has been granted to local nonprofit organizations from the Heart of Hancock Community Relief Fund.
The Hancock County Community Foundation recently released an update on the fund, which was created in early 2020 to respond to the quickly-evolving needs of the community due to COVID-19. One of the most extreme challenges for nonprofits has been the need to cancel revenue-generating programs and events. The most recent grantee was the Hancock County Children’s Choir.
Grants are administered on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. Heart of Hancock is a fee-free fund, allowing the foundation to send out 100 percent of charitable dollars to local organizations.
