GREENFIELD
Pastor Larry Fannin, age 79, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021. He was born in Henry County, Indiana on June 5, 1942 to Claude and Mary (Maddy) Fannin. He graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1961. He received his Doctorate of Divinity in Theology. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1966. Larry married Sun (Chong) on March 22, 1980 in Greenfield.
He retired from Chrysler in New Castle after 30 years of employment. Larry was a senior pastor at Evangel Church for 37 years. He enjoyed teaching, reading, and shooting firearms. Larry was extremely passionate about ministering to others.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sun Fannin of Greenfield; children, Tony (Nicole) Fannin of Indianapolis, Jody (Eunjoo) Ballenger of Greenfield, and Tejay Ballenger of Greenfield; 9 grandchildren, Tessa Fannin, Haley Fannin, Leah Fannin, David (Rachel) Ballenger, Katelynd Ballenger, Tayler (Clay) Hurst, Micah Ballenger, Kaela Ballenger, and Isaac Ballenger; and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Jayden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mary Fannin; and sister, Claudia Kelton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at Evangel Church, 1221 E. Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Pastor Jody Ballenger will be officiating.
