McCORDSVILLE — Run for the Fallen, a memorial run from Fort Wayne to Indianapolis honoring fallen service members from Indiana, will head near and through town next month.
The run will travel from Pendleton to Indianapolis on State Road 67 on Sunday, May 16. HERO Markers 125, 126 and 127 will be just before, within and after McCordsville. Runners will stop and read the names of the fallen at the markers. Sometimes family members are present at the locations.
The town is looking for community support along the route to honor and remember the fallen and encourage the runners in the tribute. The times for the stops in McCordsville are 10 a.m. at HERO Marker 125 just before entering town; 10:10 a.m. by Family Express, 5964 W. Broadway; and 10:20 a.m. outside the Gateway Crossing subdivision.
