HANCOCK COUNTY — The county recorded its youngest COVID-19 death Tuesday after a woman in her 20s died from the novel coronavirus on Jan. 30, according to information from the Indiana State Department of Health.
A total of 110 Hancock County residents have died from the virus. Sixty were age 80 or older; 28 were in their 70s; 16 in their 60s; four in their 50s; and one in their 40s. Fifty-six were women, and 54 were men.
The county also recorded 35 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, raising its total to 7,021.
Indiana added 65 deaths, raising its total to 9,677. More than 1,500 new cases brought that total to near 630,000.
As of early Tuesday, more than 8,400 Hancock County residents had received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 2,757 were fully vaccinated.
Statewide, almost 587,000 had received a first dose, and more than 155,000 were fully vaccinated.
