GREENFIELD
Irene Beeson, 104, of Greenfield passed away this week at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born October 7, 1916 in Hamilton County, Indiana to Mary and Clarence Silvey and was a 1935 graduate of McCordsville High School. She married Norman Beeson in 1939 and they were together for 47 years until Norman’s passing in 1986. Norman and Irene lived on a farm in Mt. Comfort for many years until Norman retire from farming in 1984 and Irene retired from the Hook Drug Company. Irene was an 81-year member of the Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, interior decorating, watching IU basketball, and was an active member of the Sigma Beta sorority, Rho chapter.
Irene is survived by son: Terry Beeson of Greenfield, grandson Jarrod (Janet) Beeson, great-granddaughter Lily Beeson; brother Thomas O. (Carolyn) Silvey and sister Mary E. (Ted) Woodward as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by husband Norman, her parents, brother Bill Silvey and sister-in-law Marge Silvey.
