HANCOCK COUNTY — An undercover sting operation led to the arrest of an Indianapolis woman who has been accused of dealing methamphetamine in the county.

Ashley Marie Farmer, 23, was arrested Monday, Dec. 14, and charged with a Level 3 felony count of dealing methamphetamine and two Level 4 felony charges of dealing methamphetamine. The charges stem from several incidents during the summer.

The most serious count carries a sentence of up to 16 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officials from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department conducted a narcotics operation between July 1 and Sept. 1. A confidential informant purchased methamphetamine from Farmer on multiple occasions, the affidavit said.

Some quantities purchased weighed between 1 and 5 grams; on one of the buys, the meth weighed between 5 and 10 grams, according to the affidavit.

An arrest warrant for Farmer was issued on Thursday, Dec. 10. She made an initial appearance in Hancock County Circuit Court via video on Tuesday, Dec. 15, where a $5,000 cash bond was set by Judge Scott Sirk. Farmer was no longer listed as an inmate in the Hancock County Jail on Thursday, Dec. 17. She is slated for a pretrial conference in February.
