NineStar Connect, which owns Gem Water, was forced to shut off service on Thursday morning to make repairs.

NEW PALESTINE – Gem Water customers were without service for a while on Wednesday morning, Dec. 16, after a hydrant was knocked over. A 48-hour boil order was issued after the repairs were made.

Crews from NineStar Connect, which owns Gem Water, were not able to make a quick repair because of the extensive damage. The hydrant, which had been struck by a truck, is a quarter mile south of County Road 100S on County Road 500W, said David Spencer, director of marketing and public relations for NineStar.

The utility had to shut off water service to all of its roughly 560 Gem Water customers for most of the morning while repairs were made.
