GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Republican Party will hold a caucus on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to choose the next Center Township trustee, as current trustee Ron Horning has submitted a letter of resignation.
Horning did not provide a specific reason for his resignation in the letter, Hancock County treasurer and Republican Party chair Janice Silvey said. His last day on the job will be Dec. 31.
Two candidates have put forward their names for the position: Steve Leonard, a member of the Center Township board and vice chairman of the local Republican Party; and Graham Ashley.
The caucus will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hancock County Annex. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to caucus voters and the candidates.
