HANCOCK COUNTY — Two Hancock County high school seniors are in the running to receive $20,000 scholarships from Coca-Cola.
Amber Allyn of Mount Vernon High School and Daniel Campbell of Eastern Hancock High School were among the 1.6 percent of applicants recently chosen as semi-finalists nationwide.
Just 1,609 of the 99,403 applicants have made it to this stage.
The group is now submitting their semifinalist applications to be reviewed, after which 250 will advance as regional finalists, with 150 becoming Coca-Cola Scholars and receiving a $20,000 college scholarship.
