Man critically injured in crash on Mt. Comfort road

HANCOCK COUNTY – The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two- vehicle crash late Monday afternoon that sent two people to the hospital, including an Indianapolis man who is listed in critical condition.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. Monday on Mt. Comfort Road and Stoner Drive, across from Indianapolis Regional Airport. The crash involved a 2013 Mazda S3 and a 2019 Ford Edge.

Evidence indicates the Mazda was northbound on Mt. Comfort Road and turned left into the path of the southbound Ford.

The driver of the Mazda, Jaylen M. Anthony Easly-Johnson, 21, Indianapolis, was critically injured, Capt. Robert Harris of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department said. Anthony was transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital with head trauma. He was listed in critical condition.

Anthony Easly-Johnson, was not wearing a seat belt, Harris said.

The Ford was driven by David N. Choo, 89, Indianapolis. Choo was transported by ambulance to Community Hospital East with non-life-threatening injuries. He was able to speak and is cooperating with the investigation.

Mt. Comfort Road was closed for about 2 1/2 hours while officers from the Hancock County Fatal Accident Crash Team investigated.
