Band 390 East to play concert
GREENFIELD — The band 390 East will play an outdoor concert at 7 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 3) in the parking lot of Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 23 N. East St.
This performance by the band, comprised of worship leaders from various Wabash-area churches, is part of a larger initiative by the church to engage adults in their 20s and 30s. The church recently received a $6,000 stipend from the Lilly Endowment-funded Center for Congregations as part of the center’s Engaging Young Adults initiative.
The band “is a modern worship band … who blend high energy Christian rock with worshipful atmosphere,” according to a release from the church.
Those who go are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Masks and social distancing are highly encouraged.
Harvest of Talents to raise money to feed hungry
FORTVILLE — Harvest of Talents is an art, craft and food festival set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 3) at Fortville Christian Church, 9450 N. County Road 200W, Fortville. Those who go are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
The event, so named because it encourages church members to offer their talents to produce a good or service to help raise money for hunger relief, is in its fourth year at the church.
The sale includes tables, art, home decor, quilts, fall and Christmas decorations, shelves with coat hooks, Christmas ornaments, several refinished benches and other items. Silent auctions are also planned.
Pulled pork sandwiches will be available for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., packaged for takeout with baked beans and chips.
Car show registration is from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration fee is $20. Awards will be given at 3 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will go to International Disaster Emergency Service, a Noblesville-based ministry offering feeding programs and disaster relief in various countries. Fortville Christian is one of several churches who raise money specifically for the feeding programs.

Chicken noodle dinner to have drive-thru format
WILLOW BRANCH — Willow Branch United Methodist Church will have a chicken noodle drive-thru dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 3).
There will be one meal option of chicken noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce and cookies.
Organizers ask that guests enter and drive up the south entrance between the parsonage and the former bank building, then up through the entryway and out to the north.
The cost will be $10, and proceeds will go to support building upgrades and programs.
