GREENFIELD — Police are investigating the death of the owner of a longtime Greenfield business.
Greenfield Police Department investigators and the Hancock County coroner were called to Greenfield Granite Co., 952 W. Main St., on Tuesday morning after a report of an unresponsive person inside the building. On Tuesday afternoon, Chief Jeff Rasche identified the victim as Amie Strohl, president of the firm. Rasche said Strohl had died of a gunshot wound.
Detectives were launching their investigation and were ruling nothing out in their inquiry, said Rasche, who added that there was no danger to the community in the aftermath of the shooting.
