New Palestine earns
first win of the season
The New Palestine girls golf team recorded its first win of the 2020 season on Tuesday against Greenwood at Valle Vista.
The Dragons defeated the Woodmen 226-242 led by Megan Diller’s nine-hole round score of 53. Hanna Beller shot a 55. Abby Belgin added a 57, followed by Kate Stanfield’s 61. Ava Hasecuster chipped in a 63.
The Dragons (1-1) traveled to Fox Prairie to face Noblesville on Thursday.
Marauders defeat
Bears, Hornets for win
The Mt. Vernon girls golf team tallied a 178 to defeat both Lawrence Central and Beech Grove on Monday.
Lawrence Central finished second with a 209. Mt. Vernon’s Alaina Nugent and Meredith Johnson both shot a 40 to earned co-medalist honors.
The Marauders faced Eastern Hancock on Thursday.
