INDIANAPOLIS — A film festival put on by United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Indiana will honor those with disabilities. The public is invited compete for 2020 “Pandacademy Awards” by submitting short videos exploring their relationship to someone with a disability.

The Pandacademy Awards was created to help UCPAIndy in its mission of raising awareness of disability issues while also raising much-needed funds after recent stay-at-home orders forced the group to cancel many of its usual fundraising activities.

In the spirit of the Academy Awards, the event will recognize homemade short films about people and animals with physical or mental disabilities, created by those who love them. The awards program is open to the public with entrants encouraged to film a video up to 90 seconds.

All films can be submitted through Sept. 30 at ucpaindy.org, along with a $10 entry fee. Awards will be handed in for several areas, including best video by filmmakers in various age categories.
