VERNON TOWNSHIP — Vernon Township recently approved donations of Old School Park to the town of McCordsville and Hampton Fields to the town of Fortville effective Jan. 1, 2021.
In a Facebook post, the township called the transfers a tough decision but that it’s clear the towns have more capacity to evolve the parks in a positive way using taxpayer resources more efficiently.
Old School Park is located at 6030 W. 750N, McCordsville, and Hampton Fields is located at 315 W. Church St., Fortville.
The town of McCordsville reported that over the next few months, it will be seeking community input on what residents would like to see programmed at Old School Park. Thoughts and ideas are encouraged to be shared with town manager Tonya Galbraith at [email protected].
