GREENFIELD

Susan N. (Andis) Slifer, age 65, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Community Health East Hospital. She was born in Greenfield on April 25, 1954 to Jacob and Betty (Pryor) Andis. Susan married Lenard G. Slifer on October 2, 1970 in Greenfield.

She worked for Greenfield Central High School as a cafeteria cook for 15 years. Prior to being a cook, Susan worked at various nursing homes as a Nurse’s Aide for many years before retiring. Mrs. Slifer was a member of Northside Christian Church in Greenfield, Quilting Ministry, and volunteered her time at Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen. Susan liked painting, hiking, traveling, and most of all, loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her parents, Jacob and Betty (Pryor) Andis of Greenfield; husband, Lenard G. Slifer of Greenfield; daughters, Dawn (Rich) Ramey of Greenfield, and Lisa (Rusty) Parke of Wilkinson; siblings, Diane Massie of Greenfield, Pat (Terry) Smith of Shelby County, Jenny (Jeff) Brewer of Greenfield, Doyle (Tammera) Andis of Greenfield, and David (Aubrey Keel) Andis of Anderson; grandchildren, Caitlin Hutchens, Miranda Ramage, Tabitha Davis, Allen Ramey, Elizabeth Conley, Kayla Swift, and Jacob Ramey; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Andis.

Visitation will be for close friends and family on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140, but please be prepared to wait as we are only limited to 10 guests in attendance at a time. Private Family Services are being held on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

Plans for a Celebration of Susan’s life will be held at a later date.
