FAIRLAND
Mary “Sue” (England) Carter-Mohr, age 81, of Fairland, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Suburban Hospice of Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Manila, Arkansas on July 3, 1938 to Henry Lonzo and Mildred Immageann (Wilhelm) England. She married Marvin L. Mohr.
She was part-owner of Maria’s Pizza in Indianapolis at three locations for around 35 years. Sue was a member of East Rawles Church of God in Indianapolis. She was known for her wonderful homemade dough and pizza. Sue enjoyed crocheting. She had the most caring heart and loved to interact with people and would always help anyone in need.
Sue is survived by her husband, Marvin Mohr; children, Jeannie (Anthony) Stewart, Lee Young (Steve Hess), and Lonnie (Cheryl) Carter; five grandchildren, Shelley, Maranda, D.J., Tiffany, and Derek; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Leroy Carter; son, James “Bo” Carter; daughter, Connie Abner; and brother, Paul L. England.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Ron Polly will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
