Royals 3-on-3 hoops tourney set for March
The Eastern Hancock Athletic Boosters annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held Saturday, March 14, at Eastern Hancock Schools.
The tournament has many different divisions from first grade through open divisions for adults for both male and female players. There is also B division for high school boys that do not play on a junior varsity or varsity basketball team.
The entry fee is $80 for early registration. The entry fee increases to $100 after March 10. Entries received by March 10 are guaranteed a tournament t-shirt.

Perry, Farrell invited to Top-60 workout
This week, Hoosier Basketball Magazine announced its Top 60 senior girls’ basketball players for 2019-2020.
Among this year’s players, Mt. Vernon’s Sydnee Perry and Greenfield-Central’s Hannah Farrell were named to the list.
These girls were selected from approximately 1,300 senior players statewide. Statistical evaluation, game observation and statewide research were conducted during the season and throughout the state tournament to determine Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 60.
Two sessions of the 39th annual Top 60 Senior Workout will be hosted by Hoosier Basketball Magazine in conjunction with the IHSAA and the IBCA on Sunday at Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis.
Half of the Top 60 girls, primarily from northern and southern Indiana, will participate in the first session (1-3 p.m.). The remaining players, primarily from central Indiana, will compete during the second session (3:30-5:30 p.m.).

Girls’ State Finals standouts headline IBCA POW honorees
Saturday, four state champions were crowned in girls’ basketball at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. A number of players stepped up big for their teams. Additionally, the boys around the state continued to pour in the points, putting together more huge performances, as their regular season came to an end on Saturday.
NorthWood senior Maddy Payne, Lawrence North junior Jayla Smith, Linton-Stockton junior Vanessa Shafford, Westview senior Charlie Yoder, Decatur Central senior Kenny Tracy, South Knox senior Justin Fickling, and Seton Catholic junior Jake Moynihan were selected as recipients for the week of Feb. 24-29 in the recognition program coordinated by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
Payne takes home girls’ honors in District-1, while Yoder collects boys’ honors in District-1. Smith is the District-2 girls’ winner, while Tracy is the District-2 boys’ winner. Shafford is the girls’ recipient for District-3, while Fickling and Moynihan are boys’ co-recipients for District-3.
