GREENFIELD
Charles Wade, age 92, of Greenfield, passed away on January 10, 2020 at Greenfield Healthcare Center. He was born in Big Stop Gap, Virginia on May 8, 1927 to John & Emily Alice Wade.
Charlie served in both the U.S. Army & U.S. Airforce. He spent his career working for Chrysler in Indianapolis before retiring in 1983. Charlie as a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield. He enjoyed antiquing, garage sales, fishing, and traveling.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Peggy Wade of Greenfield; daughters, Janice (Mike) Inman of Greenfield; Kim (Ronnie) Singleton of Cumberland; son, Gary Halliburton of New Palestine; Elaine Moore; brother, Jack Wade of Martinsville; sister, Virgie Shipley of Avon; 4 grandchildren, Damian Inman; Tyler Singleton; Taylor Singleton; Michael (Jordan) Halliburton; and great-granddaughter, Layla Halliburton.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Shirley; daughter, Phyllis Halliburton; brother, Harold Wade; sisters, Lucy Woods, Marie Adams and Ethel McElyea.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Tommy Hensley officiated. Burial with Military Honors was at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
