Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood, according to the American Red Cross. Each blood donation can help save up to three lives.
The Indiana Blood Center must collect 500 units of blood each day to supply local hospitals. Blood collected by the Indiana Blood Center helps patients in the local community. Eighty percent of blood donations are collected at blood drives hosted by organizations.
