CARTHAGE
Millard Jay Wilson, 87, of Carthage passed away on the afternoon of Monday, September 23, 2019 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.
He was born on May 19, 1932 in Hancock County, the son of Lowell Wilson and Glida (Spall) Cooney.
Jay was a longtime farmer in the Greenfield area and worked at Roller Coater for many years.
He was a member of the East Street Christian Church in Carthage. Jay enjoyed Bluegrass music, fishing and spending time outdoors. Jay dearly loved his family and that was highlighted when they went to their cabin in Brown county where they spent time camping and riding horses.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jessie Wilson; children, Vonda (husband: Larry) Lucas, Steve Wilson, Keith Wilson, Sharon Polley, Margie (husband: Bob) Sturgeon and Kevin Wilson; brother, Richard (wife: Verlyn) Wilson; four step-children, Darlene (husband: Mike) Alter, Nancy (husband: Joe) Kline, Mark (wife: Pam) Barry, Keith (wife: Karen) Barry and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his first wife, Francis Kocher Wilson in 1996, daughter-in-law, Susan Giddings Wilson; son-in-law, Rodney Polley; stepson, Earl Barry; siblings, Bobby Wilson, Leon Wilson, Bertha Mae Jackson, Jean Colestock, Lawrence Wilson and Benny Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 27, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
