SHELBYVILLE — For the fourth time in five years, the New Palestine Dragons girls golf team are Hoosier Heritage Conference champions.

The Dragons bounced back from falling short in the county meet, shooting a 338 on Saturday at River’s Edge in Shelbyville to reclaim their conference crown after finishing second a year ago.

Hancock County teams made it a clean sweep in the top three, with county champs Greenfield-Central finishing second with a 356 and Mt. Vernon finishing third with a 365.

New Palestine senior Annaliese Fox shot an even-par 72 to win her second straight individual HHC title. Fox beat the field by three strokes. Finishing second was Greenfield-Central’s Caroline Gibson, with a 75.

Fox and Gibson were joined on the all-conference team by Mt. Vernon’s Meredith Johnson (78), New Palestine’s Izzy Gray (80), Mt. Vernon’s Alaina Nugent (81), Pendleton Height’s Danielle Tinsley (85), Greenfield-Central’s Tandess O’Neal (87) and Yorktown’s Bella LaPierre (87).

Megan Diller added an 89 for the Dragons, Michaela Purnell shot 97 and Rachel Purnell had a 108.{/span}

{span}For the Cougars, Haley Hoagland had a 95, Katie Curry shot a 99 and Grace Silxoc finished with a 111.{/span}

{span}Mt. Vernon’s Mackenzie Miner shot a 100, Emily Rollo had a 106 and Haidyn Cauldwell had a 123.{/span}

{span}All four Hancock County teams will compete in Monday’s sectional at 9 a.m. at The Links in New Palestine.{/span}
