GREENFIELD — Thirteen young women will vie to become Riley Festival queen at the annual pageant on Sunday.

The event will be at 6 p.m. in the Greenfield-Central High School auditorium. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Gracie Johnson, a graduate of Eastern Hancock High School, is the reigning festival queen. Contestants attended a workshop last weekend, where they learned to do makeup and handle interviews. They also learned a dance routine that will be part of the pageant.

Master of ceremonies will be Anita Turner, assistant vice president of Greenfield Banking Co.

The theme for this year’s pageant and festival is “The Old Swimmin’ Hole.” The festival, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, will be held Oct. 3-6 in downtown Greenfield.
