Tell your family story
GREENFIELD — Adults and teens interested in writing about their ancestors can get expert advice from 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18 at Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. M. Teresa Baer from the Indiana Historical Society will focus on good storytelling and essential writing skills during a talk on the basics of writing family history. As managing editor of Indiana Historical Society Press, Baer oversees ethnic, immigration and family history publications, including the award-winning journal “The Hoosier Genealogist: Connections.” Baer authored “Indianapolis: A City of Immigrants” and compiled “Finding Indiana Ancestors: A Guide to Historical Research” with Geneil Breeze, which has won national genealogical and historical awards.
