Morristown Derby Days set for this weekend

MORRISTOWN — The 72nd running of Morristown Derby Days is set for this weekend.

The longstanding tradition consists of derby races, food and fun. The festivities begin on Friday. On Saturday, a breakfast starts off the day at 7 a.m. and fireworks close Derby Days at dusk.

Adults will have a derby race at 6 p.m. Friday night. Evening activities will also consist of a food vendors and other family-friendly activities. Following a Saturday morning breakfast at the American Legion, the annual P.O.G. 5-mile run/walk starts at 8:15 a.m. The parade — led by grand marshal Bob Wortman — kicks off at 11 a.m., and kids will race derby cars down the main hill in Morristown at the conclusion of the parade.
