Betty L. Watson, 81, of Waldron, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at her residence.

Born November 3, 1937 in Somerset, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Harvey Burchfield

and Allie Mae (Sears) Burchfield. She married Odus Watson on May 6, 1953, and he preceded

her on May 25, 2004.

Survivors include 11 children- Joe Watson (wife Debbie) of Franklin, David Watson (wife Joyce) of

Shelbyville, Wilma Troxell (husband Jeff) of Morristown, Pam Poe (husband Johnny) of Morristown,

Debbie Langley (husband Larry) of Greenfield, Leon Watson of Geneva, Helen Gibson (husband Mark)

of Manilla, Sandy Shaw (husband Tracey) of Flat Rock, Mike Watson (wife Michelle) of Waldron, Donna Ford (husband Matt) of Tallahassee, Florida, Tammy Day (husband Jamie) of Waldron; brother Harvey “Bud” Burchfield (wife Ruth) of Ohio, 3 sisters- Alice Sears of Somerset, Ann Sears (husband John) of Somerset, Helen Meece (husband David) of Somerset; several nieces and nephews; and over 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, 2 sons-Jimmy Watson and Junior Watson, 2 sisters- Lois Meece and Juanita West, 2 grandchildren- Bruce Watson and Chelsea Langley, and 2 infant great grandchildren.

Mrs. Watson had lived in this area for over 50 years, after moving from Somerset. She was a home maker, and had previously worked in quality control at Williams Industries for 14 years, retiring in 1990. She attended school in Somerset, and was a member of Somerset Baptist Church, and attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church.

Betty enjoyed flowers, fishing, listening to Gospel music, and shopping at Goodwill. She was all about her family and grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday evening, July 10, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
