GREENFIELD

Barbara Ann Lowery-Benvenuti, 63, passed away the morning of June 27th, peacefully listening to the morning birds and her pond waterfall after a short battle with cancer.

Barb was born October 20, 1955 to Edward J. and Frances (Myers) Mathis in Peoria, Illinois.

Barb was preceded in death by her mother, her late husband Randy Lowery, Sons Chris Bogner and Andrew Lowery.

She is survived by her loving husband Dario Benvenuti of Greenfield, son Robert (Kelly) Bogner, her father EJ Mathis, brothers Michael (Robin) Mathis and Allen (Carole) Mathis, two granddaughters Brooklyn Lowery of Illinois and Bailey Lowery of Florida, step granddaughters Jaidyn and Alexis, grandsons Christopher (Kay) Bogner, Nicholas (Jade) Bogner, Ryan (Chloe) Bogner, Gabe Stoneking and Sam Stoneking, and in laws Bill and Cecelia Kruse. She also leaves behind special friends Billy Jack Lee, Steve (Roberta) Defoe, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her special friends include everyone at the VFW who prayed for her, and her very good friends Ellen, Jenny, Lori, Connie, Shorty, Donna, Colinda, Katrina, Mike and Eric and her neighbor and partner in crime Anna “Sissy” Fox.

She was big hearted and a friend of man or animal seeking care and comfort.

Barb’s delights were caring for her yard, her pond, her faithful dogs, Toby and Teddy, and cat Xander “Bubs”, winters in Florida and summers boating in Michigan, playing tip boards and lottery tickets, and mostly enjoyed the loves of her life, granddaughters Brooklyn and Bailey.

She was a club manager for years in Illinois, enjoyed the outdoors, owned and operated her own home cleaning business in California. She later worked as an oak store furniture manager in Aurora, Illinois, and then worked as a furniture store liquidator at locations throughout the country. She was retired for the last 12 years.

Barb’s friends and family would like to thank the hospital staff at Hancock Regional Hospital 3rd Floor and the IU Indianapolis 4th Floor that cared so compassionately for her during her stay.

Once you met Barb you seldom forgot her. She was a handful and will be missed by all who knew her.
