‘Rocket Man’ tells a musical story based on life, songs of Elton John
GREENFIELD — “Rocketman,” billed as “an epic musical fantasy about the fantastical life of Elton John” is playing at Legacy Cinema. Packed with the hits of Elton John’s prodigious musical career, the biopic traces his life from the gift of a piano at a young age to his partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin, through the years of his flamboyant stage persona and into and out of alcoholism. Songs featured in the film include “Your Song,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart,” “Pinball Wizard,” “Bennie and the Jets” and, of course, “Rocketman.” “Rocketman” is rated R, and is showing now at Legacy Cinema, 2347 W.
