GREENFIELD
Ann Tribou Kuhns, 75, of Greenfield, Indiana and Weld, Maine died Sunday October 28, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. Her daughter Emily Kuhns Williams, granddaughter Remington and son in law Alex Williams were by her side. Ann put up a valiant battle for over two years against cancer. “I just want to get to know my granddaughter Remi before I die,” Ann had said. Ann’s wish was fulfilled as she spent months living with her daughter during the lengthy cancer treatments.
A nature lover, Ann loved spending summers at her family cabin in Weld, Maine. The rest of the year she called Greenfield, Indiana home. She loved her flower gardens and trees, interesting conversation and laughs, dancing, and Maine. She was a fun loving, kind-hearted mother and friend to many.
Ann was born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Earl and Marian (Harlow) Tribou. She earned her BA degree from Wheelock College in Boston and her Masters Degree from the University of Maine. She was a member of the Bradley United Methodist Church of Greenfield and the Hancock CO. Mental Health Association, (ARC) of Hancock County. She worked as a kindergarten and second grade teacher in Portland, Maine before marrying and having two children.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Kuhns, Emily Williams, granddaughter Remington Williams, and three stepchildren, Camilyn Leone, Christina Cochran and Peter James Kuhns.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Tribou.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday November 3, 2018 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial and a memorial in Ann’s honor will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Weld, Maine at a later time.
