Marauders win Argos Invitational

Mt. Vernon moved to 6-0 on the season Saturday, winning the Argos Invitational with a 3-2 win against Glenn High School and a 4-1 win against La Lumiere.

The Marauders scored three second-half goals against Glenn, completing a comeback win. Rylie Pearson, Alexi Hardie and Cleo Mills each scored, with Riley Hurst picking up an assist.

In the championship-game win, Hurst led the way with two goals and an assist. Mills had another goal, Hardie a goal and an assist, and Pearson added an assist.

Royals finish 2-1 in invite

Eastern Hancock competed in Saturday’s Indiana Deaf Invitational and finished with two wins and one loss, bringing their season record to 4-8.

In the first game, the Royals lost to Southwestern 25-13, 25-18. They picked up a 25-20, 25-19 win against Indiana School for the Deaf and then beat Sheridan in a hard-fought match, 26-24, 17-25, 15-5.
