Marauders golfers improve to 3-0
Mt. Vernon hosted Beech Grove and Lawrence Central on Tuesday, and picked up their third win of the season.
The Marauders shot a 198. Lawrence Central was second with a 202 and Beech Grove finished third with a 254.
Mt. Vernon freshman Mackenzie Minor was medalist with a 46. The Marauders are now 3-0 on the season.

Dragons golf team loses close opener
The New Palestine golf team dropped a close match Tuesday at Greenwood, falling by one stroke, 190 to 191.
Annaliese Fox led the Dragons with a 39. Izzy Gray shot 49, Rachel Purnell 51 and Megan Diller 52. Abby Belgin’s 55 was the fifth score.
“We struggled with penalty shots all evening on a tough course,” Dragons coach Sarah O’Brien said. “It was a good opening match, though, and provided a good experience for all, especially our new players.”

Swim lessons offered at Eastern Hancock
The Eastern Hancock Swim Programs are offering private, semi-private and group swimming lessons at Eastern Hancock High School.
Time slots available range from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
Session 1:
•Monday through Thursday, Aug. 20 to 23
Session 2:
•Monday through Thursday, Aug. 27 to 30
Registrations are Tuesday and Wednesday.
